rolly ai: the new money tracker for you?
I often find myself speaking with small business owners who have little idea where their financials stand—let alone understand the key trends or unique selling points driving them.
That’s why I decided to give Rolly AI a try. It’s a completely FREE app available on both the iOS and Google Play stores. (Just to be clear, I’m not being paid to promote Rolly—I’m genuinely curious about what it can do.)
So, before I get into my opinions, I’ll dive into a demo…
I started by adding £10k of rental income into my trial business, see screenshot below to see what my dashboard looks like following this:
The next step was to add some expenses. I tried adding in a recurring expense, and impressively, Rolly AI recognised the regular nature of the expense and will factor this cost into future months without any input from myself.
Any app can record income and expenses. However, not every app can use the inbuilt data to analyse trends with AI. This, in my opinion, is the key selling point of Rolly AI.
I asked for a budget plan from Rolly AI, taking into account all income and expenses. The response is logical, with both fixed and variable costs taken into consideration, with a suggested savings/ excess income allocation for the business.
Here’s the homepage, a nice summary of the income/expenses, with a pie chart graphic to make the spending proportions clear.
Here’s a snapshot of the various tools Rolly AI has on offer:
Another helpful feature of the app is the calendar, which shows the level of net income/expense on any particular date. Pretty helpful for tracking past, and future cash flows.
What I was struggling to get my head around was the added value of the premium subscription compared to the basic, free plan. The features are outlined below—but based on my trial run, I found I could already do quite a bit with the free version!
That said, if you're looking to manage multiple wallets, export data, or access a broader calendar view, the annual and lifetime subscriptions are priced fairly low, so it could still be worth considering.
All in all, the app is fairly simple—but it has a clean, intuitive interface, making it easy to spot business trends and analyse cash flow using the built-in AI and calendar features.
The free plan covers most of the essentials, so for many users, there’s little need to upgrade to the premium version.
However, if you’re running a more complex business—with more variables or occasional large capital expenses—it may not be the right fit.
